About the Summer School Reunion
By now, it has become an annual tradition to organize a community reunion every summer, where we come together to enjoy a meaningful afternoon in an informal setting. We would like to invite you to join us on Sunday 11th of August at Tempelhofer Feld, Grillplatz Ost between 16:00 and 21:00 for a summer picnic!
This is a way to strengthen our community by getting to know one another and building connections! Trust, care, and joy are fundamental to our political organizing, and these communal moments give us the strength to persevere in the face of so much oppression and hardship.
In these times when the extreme right is rising everywhere, taking care of our bonds and relationships is crucial. Finding allies and strength in each other is key when, alongside combating fascist ideologies, we must also confront our own mistrust and feelings of powerlessness in leftist circles.
This gathering is also a moment for us to express our gratitude towards the community that we are part of. We want to extend our appreciation to all those partners with whom we have worked together. At the same time, we warmly welcome all those who are just getting to know the community.
You are encouraged to exchange experiences about your struggles and activism, feel free to bring your banners, posters, flyers, stickers, and soli-merches. In case you feel like you would like to take a break from all that, personal hobbies are also welcome, such as knitting, flying kites, or playing board games.
Sharing food is not just about nourishment; it's a powerful community-building concept that fosters connections, strengthens relationships, and celebrates cultural diversity. When people come together to share meals, they create a space where everyone's contributions are valued, regardless of their background or status. This act of sharing promotes understanding, empathy, and solidarity among community members. It also symbolizes reciprocity and mutual support, reinforcing the idea that we are all interconnected and responsible for each other's well-being. We are preparing vegan food, but it is a potluck concept, so if you are able to, please bring a dish or contribute something you can share with others.
Kids are welcome, and childcare will be provided! Please provide the necessary information in the registration form below.
We hope for a gathering of as many of us as possible — Berlin's migrant workers, organizers, activists, and the School of Transnational Organizing community are all invited to join us for a community gathering filled with good food, music, and games!
